Hello and welcome to my entry for the Pets on Quilts Show hosted by Lily Pad Quilting! I am excited to be participating again. This year's entry involves a certain orange cat who had issues parting with a certain niece's quilt.

| From the time I laid out the building blocks Thomas was fascinated with this quilt. |

| "Hey mom, what are you doing with my quilt on the floor?" |
 |
| "Oh man, this is the best ever! It is missing something though..." |
 |
| "I know! I will rub myself all over the large black areas and add that special orange color. It will add texture and depth to the quilt." |
 |
| "Ohhhh yeah, this is looking yummy." |
 |
| "Shhh, mom thinks I am just helping by keeping the quilt from sliding onto the floor, but really I'm working as much fur into the top as possible, so that the quilt CAN'T go to Arizona and this niece-person she keeps talking about." |
I was finally able to drag it away from him and put the binding on and get it sent to Arizona. Here are some photos of the finished piece:

Thomas is a very handsome boy. But then I have a "thing" for orange male tabbies. My "son" ALfie is entered, too! Best of luck!! (PS - love the quilt you did for your niece).
You are never alone when you have a kitty in your sewing room! They are interested in everything you do and are wonderful company.

Good job ! I see feathers in the Quilting. That cat reminds me of one we had at our previous place. Ours was female.
What a fantastic helper, I am sure the quilt would of fallen on the floor without Thomas' help. He is so cute!

Pretty kitty. I'm partial to orange cats. Pretty quilt too.
Thomas obviously knows a beautiful quilt when he sees it and is not shy about claiming it! He was very wise is realizing quickly how beautiful his lovely orange furs would look embellishing it!
What's not to love about a beautiful orange kitty :-) He obviously has great taste too!
I sure hope that you make another quilt for that beautiful kitty--cause you can tell---that kitty really really loves that quilt--

I'm not sure I've ever seen a cat love a quilt so much. It's written all over his kitty face. Did you tell him there will be more quilts to love?
I had to keep a lint roller handy to make sure I did not quilt cat hair into my quilt, it sounds like you had the same problem. :)
Thomas certainly loved that quilt. It is a beautiful quilt and I hope you let your niece know the sacrifice Thomas made so she could actually receive the quilt. I am sure there will be another for him to love.
I love it how cats can get so posessive about a quilt! Of course, they think it is for them!
Yes, there is something about that open black area that furkids insist on getting as much fur-personality rubbed into. Love it!

Thomas knows how handsome he'll look against that beautiful quilt, maybe he needs one of his own to rub that orange fur all over :)
Thomas has his hand firmly on what he wants, lovely story and photos, he is another ginger ,they are so special.
I can understand why Thomas didn't want the quilt to go. It's gorgeous.

That's a beautiful quilt (I've been wanting to make a brights-on-black pattern!) and a very sweet and helpful cat. :)
Beautiful quilt, don't know how you got any of the cat fur out of the black fabric.
